Being that this is a known track, RaceRender would normally auto-calculate them for you when it thinks they are missing, but the additional problems in this case prevented that from happening.Ģ) Something very strange happened with the GPS data during this session. Looks like there were two things happening:ġ) We were expecting the lap data (aka "Beacon Markers") to be comma-separated, but they are space-separated here. Otherwise, if you send the data file to me at Info, I can investigate further.I'll send you the file for your review. Of course, nothing changed and the positional data is still nonfunctional. Tried this too as a long shot, but since I've done about a dozen videos with overlay already with this same setup I thought it was a little weird that I would need to do it manually just for this one file. Tried that, but since Race Render doesn't recognize any GPS data, there are no laps to choose from in the drop down box Otherwise, if you send the data file to me at Info, I can investigate further. If that works, please let me know the names of the data channels that you selected there, so that I can update RaceRender's auto-selection logic to cover them. To test this (and manually correct it), you could double-click on your data file in the Input Files list, then go choose the specific data columns from your file for Position X (Longitude) and Position Y (Latitude). If the file didn't define them with channel names like we'd commonly expect, then RaceRender may have auto-selected the wrong ones. If not that, the next likely suspect would be the positional data channels in the file. By default, it will plot only the best lap, because that's usually the cleanest set of data to use for plotting, but sometimes it can get thrown off when there's a bogus short lap in the data (or bogus lap data in general). The usual workaround for track map plotting issues is to double-click on the track map display object, so that its properties box will appear on the right, and then change the "Draw Selected Lap" option to "All" or a specific lap number. I can send the data file to anyone willing to help. So at this point, I'm asking for help to see if we can dig into the file and figure out what went wrong in case it happens again. So something is wrong with the GPS data, I just don't see what. But when the track map is up it seems as you move through the file, the tracking dot seems to move off the screen and disappear. It's very strange since in the Motec data view program I2 everything seems normal with the file. I had to remove the track map and directly link the lap count and lap time data to info in the file, obviously it doesn't work too well. Here's a link to my Saturday video so you can see that it works well: This despite the fact that I was able to do that for previous sessions and my race on Saturday. For some reason my data overlay for my race on Sunday just will not create a track map or lap times. I've been using Race Render for about a year now and have had good success until the other day at Buttonwillow.
